Lehigh Valley Reads partnered with Waterford.org to help increase accessibility to courses that will prepare children for Kindergarten. The highly effective Waterford UPSTART curriculum includes reading, math, and science that is completed fully online. The goal is to provide this Kindergarten readiness program to 125 children throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Waterford UPSTART was named a 2019 Audacious Project, a collaborative funding initiative housed at TED, known for their TED Talks and tagline "Ideas worth spreading". 70 percent of 3-4-year-olds in Lehigh and Northampton Counties are without a pre-k program. Waterford UPSTART will bring more quality early childhood readiness to students in the Lehigh Valley.
