In the first years of life, a child’s brain forms one million new neural connections every second!
This is why simple, everyday interactions with young children—like describing objects seen during a walk or bus ride, singing songs, or telling stories—can better prepare them for school, and lay a strong foundation for their social-emotional development, health, and lifelong learning.
We are partnering with trusted messengers in the community who are committed to sharing information with parents and caregivers about the critical role they play in their child’s early brain development.
Talk Read Sing aims to transform everyday places where families spend time in language-rich environments. Laundromats, grocery store chains and libraries around the community will display creative materials that encourage families to talk, read, and sing while they engage in everyday activities.
Talk, Read, Sing has created an activity kit to help you and your little one learn at home. The kit contains reading books, a puppet, a toy, tips and more to help your child be a brain builder. Let's make small moments big by talking, reading and singing.
